Building on three decades of proven capability and industry experience, Hydro Group has become the market leader in providing bespoke engineered cable/ connector assembly solutions for subsea applications in both domestic and international markets.
Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd was formed in 1982 by a team of experienced and quali ed engineers with one objective and mission, to design innovative and unique underwater electrical and optical connectors, connector-cable assemblies and penetrators for the Subsea Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Defence and Aerospace Industry.
Hydro Cable Systems Ltd was established in the operational centre of North Sea activities by a nucleus of experienced engineers in 1985. The company was created to support the growth of its sister company Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd (est 1982). Hydro Cable Systems design and manufacture subsea electrical cables, bre optical subsea cables, hybrid subsea cables, tethers and underwater umbilicals.
Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd are able to offer the Engineering Services of its in-house design team to respond quickly to your non-standard applications. Non- standard engineering requirements are handled quickly and ef ciently through our sales department often at no initial cost to the customer. A viability study and concept drawings are produced with budgetary costs to allow the customer to quickly evaluate their project.
Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd are pleased to offer comprehensive in-house Pressure Testing Services.
Our Q.A. Department and trained technicians are able to carry out the following tests:
• Hydraulic pressure testing
• Hydrostatic pressure testing
• Helium pressure testing • SF6 gas testing.
Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd offer comprehensive in- house and on-site Field Optical Testing Services.
Our Optical Technicians are trained in Optical Fibre Installation and Testing (Single Mode Fibre) to City & Guilds standard. Several staff members are fully trained in Multimode Optical Termination and Testing.
Our Quality Assurance Department and trained technicians are able to carry out fast accurate fault nding in your supplied connector and cable assemblies. A full report is then generated stating the repair recommendations and is accompanied by a formal written quotation detailing the costs associated with the rectification of your equipment.
We have several fully trained technicians available to support your electrical, optical, mechanical termination and moulding requirements locally, nationally and internationally. Our competitive technician rates are inclusive of all standard equipment required to carry out the work and clearly state day rates, overtime rates, travel rates, subsistence rates and mobilisation rates etc.

Hydro Bond Engineering Ltd offer a full termination and moulding service. We can manufacture your complete harness requirement with all breakouts required in accordance with your electrical/optical wiring diagrams. Our break out harnesses are manufactured with either Hydro Bond series connectors, customer specifed third party connectors or customer supplied free issue connectors.
Hydro Group has overcome offshore hazardous sea conditions with the design and production of our HRC range 12kV and 36kV. These connectors are the evolution from our original junction box box design which reduced installation time from a week to less than 12 hours.
Hydro Group's concept allows multiple energy devices to be connected to a single export cable, reducing the number of shore cables required and cutting the costs of the subsea cabling infrastructure for renewables projects.
Hydro Cable Systems Ltd has the in-house capability to armour multicore electrical, optical and hybrid cables using galvanised steel or aluminium wire.
Galvanised steel or aluminium wire armour provides mechanical protection, which means the cable can withstand higher stresses, be buried directly and used in external underground and underwater projects.
Hydro Cable Systems Ltd design and manufacture Electrical, Optical and Hybrid composite subsea cables from its manufacturing HQ in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Our purpose built lay-up process allows hoses, cables, strength members and other components to be integrated into complex bundles. These bundles may be utilised in umbilicals as a composite assembly.
Hose bundles with such properties are used in many applications for the offshore subsea oil & gas industry.
